The Cleveland Metroparks Zoo is located in the University Circle area. Wade Park Zoo originally opened in 1882, and the Cleveland Museum of Art was nearby. In 1907, Wade Park was transferred to its current location near W. 25th St. The Cleveland Museum of Natural History was established as the zoo's first director. In 1940, Cleveland City Council approved the purchase of Brookside Park east of Fulton Rd. and voters approved bond issues to build the Bird Bldg. and the Pachyderm Bldg. The Cleveland Zoological Society was formed in 1950 and became a separate corporation.

To save even more money, visitors can purchase the Total Experience Pass, which is valued at $24, and includes unlimited rides, discounted Eagle Zip Adventure, and 10% off purchases at the gift shop.
